Healthy lifestyles, sensory experience, interdisciplinary anthropology

Having interdisciplinary backgrounds in medical research and anthropology, I am interested in contemporary healthy lifestyles such as dieting and grocery shopping habits. My work intends to interpret health-related sensory experiences in a 'synaesthetic' manner, intertwining different modalities of critical medical anthropology, phenomenology, neuroscience, and more.

Elisabeth Hsu is Professor of Anthropology whose teaching and research contributes to the fields of medical anthropology and ethnobotany, language and text critical studies, the phenomenology of the body and the history of East Asian science.
